Twitter GIF Downloader

Download GIFs and videos from Twitter/X posts

Paste the URL of a Twitter/X post containing a GIF or video

When is this Twitter GIF downloader useful?

The current version works with direct media URLs only. It is useful when you already have a direct link to a GIF, image or video file (for example, a URL ending in .gif, .jpg, .png or .mp4 copied from developer tools, another download site or a public image host).

It does not parse Twitter/X tweet pages and does not rely on the official API, so you do not need to log in or configure any tokens. The trade-off is that the URL you paste must be a direct, accessible media link.

Tips for using direct media URLs

Whenever possible, use URLs that open directly as an image or video in your browser instead of a web page. This usually means the address ends with a common image or video extension.

Large GIFs and videos will take longer to download depending on your connection. If you plan to reuse a file, consider saving it locally or uploading it to your own hosting, then use other ImageWA tools to crop, compress or convert it as needed.
